Houston Immigration Attorneys Protest Trump's Muslim Ban
The Holland Law Firm team, including Managing Attorney, Tatiauna Holland, and Senior Legal Assistant, Natalie Plata, protested the executive order signed by Donald Trump on Friday, January 27, 2017.
The initial protest took place at Discovery Green on Sunday, January 29, 2017. People of all faiths and nationalities shouted "No Ban, No Wall" and other related chants to show their discontent following the detention of green card and visa holders from 7 Muslim-majority countries, including Iraq, Syria, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen.
Following the Discovery Green protest, the Holland Law team joined other attorneys from the Houston area, including the ACLU-Texas to offer legal advice at George W. Bush International Airport.
While details of the executive order are limited at this time, Attorney Holland, along with the ACLU, were able to gather contact information of individuals and families planning to travel to the US and develop plans to avoid immigration detention while adhering to US law.
The work has just begun and the Holland Law Firm, PLLC plans to be instrumental in the fight against this unconstitutional executive order and any other unlawful immigration law the Trump administration plans to implement.
